Basic Description
In
addition to the informational web site there are many other categories or
types of
web sites including but not limited to... •
Personal / Biographical (often called "Vanity" web sites ie. About Me)
• e-Commerce (designed to 'sell a product') •
Persuasive (goal to sway or convert viewer's opinion)
• Instructional (to teach a topic or course of study)
• Current Events (Instant info ie. news reporting) •
Registration (collecting information, creating databases)
• Customer Service
• Entertainment
For
this assignment you will choose a partner(s) and we will attempt to simulate
a situation where multiple individuals work on the same project from
different physical locations (for example you may work from home while
someone in another state works from an office location) Communication and
organization will be essential to the successful completion of this web
site. You and your partner(s) will have to choose the 'type' of web site,
prepare a goal statement, select and define your target audience and finally
have your topic approved before you begin. (Oct 02)
Part I - Choose a Subject / Topic
A. Choose from the following suggestions...
a) American History
b) Biography c)
Space
d) A similar subject that you are interested in (Must be approved!)
B. Write a goal statement that
clarifies what you wish to accomplish with
the publishing of this site.
C. Using your Goal statement as a guide, decide what 'type' of web site you
wish to create.
D. Using your Goal statement as a guide, select your sub-topics (4 for each
member of your team)
E. Analyze your goal statement,
topics, & sub-topics then write a description of your target audience.
F. As a team Type & Submit above information to
instructor for approval.
Specific
Requirements
A. Folder Organization
1. Create and organize all
folders a)
'Name of Topic' Folder 1)

5) any other folder(s) you fell are necessary for
organization
2. Save ALL materials in
appropriate folders
3. Be SURE each member of your team has the EXACT same folders and
organization (including spelling & text case)
B. Individual Page Requirements

5. Reflection Page: EACH team member MUST write a reflection of this assignment,
(to be combined onto a single pg) be sure to cover the following...
a) What did you learn about the topic of your web
site?
b) Please explain what was the most useful thing
you learned
about web page/site design in the completion of this task.

Was there anything that you did not learn/know that would have
