Red eye is a common
problem when using a built in flash
unit. Presumably you are using a
flash because there is little or no
light present at the scene. This
causes the subject's pupils to open
widely. When your subject is
directly facing the camera and the
flash goes off, the light travels
into the eye, is reflected off the
back of the eye and sent back to the
camera, to be recorded by the film.
Removing
red eye to achieve a more 'normal'
photograph, is a perfect example of
a practical use of the simple
masking techniques we have covered.
The internet is an
abundant source of information on
photography and digital imaging.

method of 'getting the red out!'
